Slowly gaining momentum in the on line digital download arena, Tesco Digital are set to make a major foray into Film and TV download services with the announcement that they have signed up Warner Bros and Sony.

The digital download service from Tesco will offer films such as "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", "Spider-Man 3", "Open Season" and "Superbad". Highlights available from Warner will see the availability of TV series including "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Once paid for and downloaded, subscribers will own their chosen film or TV show. Prices are currently set at £10.97 for a new release, £6.97 for a back catalogue film, and £1.87 for a TV show episode. Tesco are planning to introduce a rental service in the near future.
