There are not many 42in LCD TV's out there for around £550 and certainly none that deliver the spec available on Toshiba's 42XV555.
With a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution along with three HDMI inputs there is nothing remarkable about the XV series until you look at the competition in this price bracket. Only LG's 42LG3000 and Panasonic's TH42PX80 come close and neither of them offer a Full HD resolution.
The XV series also features 'Active Vision' picture processing engine which has established a track record for producing strong picture performance across Toshiba's flat panel range. Elsewhere, 'Dynamic Contrast' automatically adjusts the TV's backlight to maintain fine detail whatever the brightness of the incoming video signal.
Toshiba's innovative 'Luma Sens' technology complements 'Dynamic Contrast' by adjusting the screen's brightness optimizing for the current 'ambient' lighting in your living space.
Toshiba's XV series is now available in the UK in 32in, 37in, 42in, 46in and 52in varieties.
