Aimed at creating a smoother judder free image, LG have introduced a range of LCD TV's with their own TruMotion 200Hz processing.
The LH5000 series is available in 32in, 37in, 42in, and 47in varieties and has the advantage of being the cheapest 200Hz equipped LCD TV's around at time of writing.
LG's TruMotion processing inserts three extra digitally generated frames for every 'real' frame. The process however offers a great deal more than simply inserting the preceding frame three times in quick succession. LG employ some technological wizardry to 'estimate' what each new frame should look like, the aim being to further enhance fluidity of motion.
LG's LH5000 range also come complete with 4 HDMI inputs, a claimed 80,000:1 contrast ratio and Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolutions.
Early indications suggest that 200Hz on the LH5000 works well with a considerable improvement in motion fluidity over LG's standard LCD TV's. Perhaps not quite as accomplished as Sony's Z4500 200Hz series, the LG has the advantage of a significantly lower price tag.
