Offering an entry level introduction to Home Cinema, Samsung have introduced their excellent value HT-BD1220 system which includes a Blu-ray player, two satellite speakers, subwoofer and has the added attraction of an iPhone dock.

The HT-BD1220 can play 1080p/24fps Blu-ray and will decode all of the HD audio codecs. There is a ‘works with iPhone’ iPod dock, a USB input, Ethernet port and an FM radio.

The whole unit has a glossy black, quality feel about it with touch sensitive controls adding that real sense of style. The system is very simple to set up and its intuitive interface makes it easy to operate.

The big attraction of this unit however is the excellent performance for the price. While not as 'open' as some speakers, acoustics refuse to become flustered even with the sound turned up to its max. While there are better Blu-ray performers out there, the BD1220 will leave everyone more than satisfied with a more than competent High Definition experience; and considering that the whole system can be bought for less than £350 online this has to be something of a Home Cinema bargain.
