Samsung adds style to the Blu-ray player

Not content with producing some of the most visually stunning plasma and LCD TV's around, Samsung has extended its design philosophy to Blu-ray players with the introduction of the stunning BD-P4600.

As a perfect aesthetic accompaniment to Samsung's 'touch of colour' designed LCD TV's, the P4600 has undergone the same process which produces a subtle hint of scarlet red into its body.

Samsung's slim line BD-P4600 Blu-ray player is claimed to be the first wall mountable product of this type in the world. The player comes complete with wall mounting brackets and also included is a table top stand which props the BD-P4600 up at 25 degrees.

The BD-P4600's beauty is more than skin deep however. This is a profile 2.0 blu-ray player which supports JPEG and DiVX playback. There is also an optional USB dongle to provide Wi-Fi connectivity. Samsung have built in the mandatory 1GB of local memory rather than expecting you to fork out on an external SD card or USB stick.

Along with a 30 second loading time, a feature that all of us who have patiently waited for our Blu-ray player to regurgitate a disc will welcome is an ejection time of just one second. There is also built-in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding.

As if the gorgeous looks were not enough, Samsung's BD-P4600 has a profile of just 1.5 inches. The BD-P4600 is available from UK retailers now.
