More HD content from the BBC

Following an announcement that it plans to bring High Definition content to its iPlayer 'video on demand' service, the BBC has reaffirmed its commitment to broadcasting HD content with more shows being filmed in the format.

Head of BBC HD Danielle Nagler confirmed the arrival of a number of programmes to be made available in HD, stating: "In the coming months Dragon's Den, Countryfile, the Culture Show, Shooting Stars, The Restaurant, Waterloo Road, Ashes to Ashes, Hole in the Wall, and Flog it! are already committed to making the move,".

Nagler went on to say that the BBC was committed to producing over 300 hours of High Definition programming for the coming year.

The BBC are also committed to making HD content available across a number of platforms stating that users would be able to access all of the corporation's  content on Freesat, Freeview and iPlayer, as well as Sky and Virgin, in a continued attempt to make HD accessible to all.
