LG introduce SL90 LED TV
Tuesday, 11 August 2009 08:55 UK

Making up for lost ground to manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony, the Korean manufacturer LG has introduced their visually stunning SL90 LED TV.

At just 1.15in thick, the SL90 features a "seamless" design which makes the whole unit above the stand look like it has been hewn from a solid piece of granite. There is no visible distinction between screen, bezel and speakers, LG achieving the look with a single pane of glass which stretches from edge to edge.

LED backlighting reduces electricity consumption while helping to create a claimed contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1. The SL90 is equipped with a 120Hz (100Hz for the UK) refresh rate while a Mark-Levinson-tuned “invisible speaker system” eliminates the need for speaker grilles on the front of the TV.

A 42in and 47in version of the SL90 will be launched later this year although LG have not released any pricing details as yet.
