Designed to form part of a wireless home entertainment network, Sony have introduced their BDP-S760 and BDP-S560 Blu-ray players to the UK.

Sony's new devices are both DNLA network certified, and feature DVD upscaling to 1080p, Xross Media Bar menus and a front-panel USB port. With 'Quick Start', Sony are claiming a six second blu-ray disc load time.

The BDP-S760 adds an 'HD Reality Enhancer' image processor which allows you to fine tune the picture on the fly. 'Super Bit Mapping' has been designed to improve natural colour reproduction by matching the image to your display's bit depth. You also get multi-channel headphone surround technology (for a multi-channel sound effect).

As you would expect, both the S760 and S560 are backward compatible with your standard DVD collection. What's more, by connecting via HDMI, you can upscale them using the 'Precision Cinema HD' Upscale technology for improved picture quality.

The BDP-S560 and BDP-S760, are available now in the UK and are being showcased on the weekend of 7/8 November at Sony's "Manpods" demo off Carnaby St in London.
