Samsung's LED 9000 3D enabled TV is remotely stylish
Thursday, 14 January 2010 11:05 UK

With quite easily the most stylish and sophisticated remote yet seen, we mustn't forget that Samsung's LED 9000 TV itself is a design classic packed full of innovative technology.

At just 7mm deep and boasting a gloriously seductive brushed silver finish, Samsung's flagship 9000 LED is one of the most attractive flat panel TV's we have come across.

The svelte like profile is partly achieved by displacing most of the TV's connections and locating them in the pedestal, rather than a separate AV box.

Receiving more column inches, almost, than the TV itself, Samsung have also introduced what has to be the coolest TV remote around. This is a full colour touch screen remote that communicates via WiFi and infrared. It can stream video from your PC to the TV, and actually lets you watch TV in a mini window while something else is playing on the screen.

Differentiating the 9000 as a flagship model, the seductive brushed silver frame of the 46in and 55in models gives you 1080p, WiFi connection along with 240Hz processing.

The LED 9000 also boasts a built-in processor, similar to Toshiba's Cell technology, that can convert 2D images into 3D. The TV is compatible with multiple 3D standards, including the Blu-ray Disc Association ratified 'Blu-ray 3D' standard as well as half and full HD resolution formats.

Samsung's 9000 LED TV will be joined in 2010 by new 8000, 7000, 6500 and 5000 TV's. The 8000 and 7000 will use more sophisticated 'locally dimmed' implementations of LED backlighting.
